Monday, the dream riser and poetry weaver; Wednesday, the trickster and the wordsmith; Sunday, the radiant one we call upon—the muse who brings forth light, music, and the sacred fire of creativity.

A week: a perfect slice of time, a seven-day cycle associated with the seven planets and their symbolic attributions since the Babylonian period. As we move through this cycle—often defined by work, routines, and familiar habits—we find ourselves asking questions and doing our best to navigate the very human-sized rhythms, drawing cards in the morning to figure it all out, one day at a time.

But what if, instead of drawing cards in the wild, we worked with a system? With one large weekly spread to receive not only the answers to all our questions we might have throughout the week, but also receive guidelines for making the most of this time period, harnessing the archetypal forces of these celestial bodies as actionable forces?

In this class, students will learn a weekly cartomantic ritual using the Tableau structure: a large square of forty-nine cards and a significator. Through a detailed framework, we will explore the distinct attributes of the planets—Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn—and understand how these celestial energies interact with our daily experiences.

Each session will combine scholarly inquiry with practical card work, encouraging students to discern the subtle dynamics at play in their lives and incorporate these insights into their weekly rituals. By engaging with this methodology, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of how to use planetary correspondences to navigate the complexities of time and intention.

French-born Laetitia Barbier is an independent scholar, as well as a professional tarot reader and teacher. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Art History from La Sorbonne University Paris in 2009.
